About Me

Hi! Welcome!

MakeRealFood.comMy name is Chelsea.  I’ve blogged on and off for years.  But I’m back in the saddle and excited to keep it up now. The insane dust of the past four five six years is finally settling over our life.  As things settle we are finally beginning to focus on us, and what makes us the healthiest, happiest people we can be.

For me, thatโ€™s meant a lot of changes in the foods I do and donโ€™t eat.  Nathan (my boyfriend husband) has amazingly generously and willingly jumped on board. I have some health problems that have left conventional medicine stumped.  When life finally slowed down for Nathan and me, I realized I actually felt terrible all the time.  I turned to food, Chinese medicine and acupuncture and was finally pointed in the correct direction, and was able to connect with doctors who could begin to give me answers. I want to share this journey with you – the journey of learning to love myself, food, and the world we live in.

So remember – Make them whole foods.  Make them delicious.  And make sure you feel great eating them.

We also share our life with this crazy, crazy cat, Indiana Jones.  But not in a crazy cat people kind of way.  In a โ€˜wow this cat stole my heartโ€™ kind of way. (is that crazy cat person?).

I stumbled across your blog in a plant-based group on Facebook and am excited to get to read your blogs… I couldn’t subscribe fast enough haha… I have some intolerance issues that I am currently working out.. it seems that living a Whole-Food-Plant-Based life is what is working for me.. I look forward to your next blog entry ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hi Chelsea- I found a video that you posted on youtube when I searched “How to live with a bipolar spouse?” I am glad that I stumbled upon yours. I have been with my fiance for over a year and we have lived together for 7 months. I also have an eight year old daughter (who he is great with!) For the most part my fiance is in a good place now. He takes his medications and is stable. He is 40 now and went through his diagnosis, medication changes and chaotic times mostly in his 20s but as you know it can still be a roller coaster ride. Sometimes I feel very isolated and alone and it’s difficult. We moved to a place where we didn’t know anyone so it’s been even more of a challenge feeling so very far away from family and friends. I try to educate myself as much as I can about bipolar and just try to be there for him. I won’t go into ever detail- I’m sure without me explaining too much that you can understand me. I just really wanted to say thank you for being open and letting others know that they are not alone! We often times are so worried about care taking for others that we forget about ourselves. I hope that the both of you are doing well. It’s a different and challenging journey but worth it for the ones we love. Thanks again for your insight- it’s truly comforting.

      Thanks for reaching out! I do (did) have a facebook page but I don’t really use it much at all – life for us has gotten a bit busy and so I’m not blogging much ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m always around if you need something, though!
