Things here are still grand – it just all really feels like a dream or an alternate reality that I’m going to suddenly wake up from. And..I mean that in a good way. Not in a terrible tragic things happened way. All is good. It just feels strange. Eventually I’ll adjust, and this will become Real Life.
But quickly progressed to this:At negative 40 degrees (don’t worry. I covered up my nose. Just was letting it breathe for a second!) Now. I know I live somewhere cold. And I don’t really mind the cold. But -40 was something other than cold. I felt like my eyeballs were going to freeze in my head. For reals.
Don’t worry, though. Thursday (today), we are going to set record lows. And I plan to spend the day inside. Working from my INSIDE job. Because, inside is good.
Speaking of good. This chocolate pudding. On Sunday I was looking at a super lonely box of tofu and thought “I should do something with you before you expire”. Enter cocoa. Enter pudding. Recipe coming soon. Errr…as soon as I finish licking the bowl. Geez.
Uhm. Speaking of Sunday. I had to do some major repair work on my latest pair of socks. Because…this.
Yep. That would be my first broken knitting needle. [tears]. I have been shoving them into my ski coat on the past few Saturday nights for ski patrol inside time, and apparently they didn’t survive the stuff Saturday night. I only dropped a few stitches, which I was able to save, and I managed to move them onto some size 2 needles until my new needles come. So tragic.
And in mention of tragic (but not really, I mean, … #FirstWorldProblems). I powered through a really good book last week. I greatly enjoy reading – but it seems to come in spurts. I get a good book. I stay up ALL NIGHT EVERY NIGHT because MUST READ BOOK. And then I take a break for a bit. This is the book I spent my nights reading last week:
I can’t tell you too much about it without giving it all away. Except. It’s pretty young-adult-y. It’s about two kids, named Eleanor and Park. And their life. And it’s lovely. And it’ll make you cry. And make you laugh. And make you STAY UP ALL THE NIGHTS READING. Totally get it. Now.
Have I mentioned in this post that I LOVE working from home? Bonus points for wearing my toboggan while working!Okay. Wednesday night needs to continue minus-blogging so that I can spend some precious time with this crazy man. 🙂
See you guys next week 🙂
