What. In. The. World. Happened. < It is July. WHAAAAAAT. < Where is summer going?
This past weekend, though, my brain switched to dead-middle-of-winter mode and I hunkered down on the couch and knit for the entire weekend. I’d call myself an advanced-intermediate/avid/adventurous/picky knitter. I knit a whole whole lot in the winter, but I often set it all aside for a while in the summer, or only pick it up here and there. This past week, BOOM. FULL BLOWN ADDICTION.
I finished knitting two baby-knit projects that I had started forever ago. Then I moved on to other winter items such as:
A pair of mittens, in 1.5 days, including rewriting the pattern for a different yarn and hand size. (In love with this cable pattern). And a super thick fairly ugly but my very first one SOCK. < Yeah, now I’m addicted to socks. I also knitted a few nights WHILE reading in bed. Because I wanted to do both. At the same time. I even knitted while sitting in front of the oven waiting for dinner to cook one night. (Uhm. Please tell me I’m not the only one who sits in the floor in front of the oven?!)
So. Yeah. Brain thinks we’re about to freeze to death and it needs to KNIT.ALL.THINGS. < Silly brain.
I guess I can’t say the only thing I did all weekend was knit. I also ate cookies…There is a new cookie delivery service in our town that delivers fresh baked cookies to you. < Seriously? Why didn’t I think of that?! They even have vegan/gluten free cookies. And they were…AMAZING.
Monday and Tuesday I did a run-commute both days, because I’d sat.on.my.butt all weekend, and definitely needed to move…But…really…that’s all that’s been going on. Knitting. Eating delicious food. Run commutes. Oh. And. Off work tomorrow. < Thanks 4th of July! I hope you’re having a great week! You can click here to check out other Thursday Thoughts and I’ll catch you next week!
