Each week Amanda [Running with Spoons] hosts Thinking Out Loud Thursday. A chance for us to do some brain-dump blogging. And to hang out with fun people. And not feel so self conscious about the fact that you wore Christmas socks this week. Opps.
1 – I have still been all about some breakfast lately.
Some mornings I wake up and jump right out of bed because I’m super excited to eat breakfast. Seriously. Breakfast.
2 – This past weekend? Hiking.
It was a beautiful hike. But perhaps a bit of climbing for our first hike of the season.
3 – Oh YEAH! I got a new toy! The Garmin Forerunner 220
. Ever since my FitBit ate a hole in my arm (Yep. Gross) I’ve been wanting something to replace it. I decided the Garmin would meet my needs for run-tracking much better than the fitbit did. I’ve only gotten to use it twice (read – lots of ice outside), but so far it’s been awesome! Around here phone-gps-running-apps can’t keep signal because of the mountains – but I haven’t had any problems with the garmin! (even on the hike!). I also love that it has an accompanying phone app (that is now out for android!), so I can look at my data before I’m even to my computer. The other nice feature of the phone app is the ability to do a live track session – so Nathan can check on me / my progress during my runs – which makes everyone feel safer. 🙂
4 – Well, this happened. I have – seriously – never played softball in my life. This should be majorly interesting. They’ve promised me : 1 – no one will laugh at me. and 2 – I can just stand in the outfield and duck when the ball comes. Oh it’s going to be a fun spring 🙂
5 – Dear The Big Bang Theory. Where have you been my whole life? A friend just gave us all of the seasons on DVD and we’ve been blowing through them. The ‘play all’ button on this series is dangerous.
6 – Also sucking time lately is Lie To Me, courtesy of Netflix. It’s got me trying to read other people’s micro-expressions. Turns out I may (not) be a genius on them. Dang – so much for that career.
7 – Speaking of things I’ve become obsessed with this week. Mangoes? You sure came out of the woodwork. As you saw yesterday in WIAW, I bought some last week – but hadn’t eaten them. This week? Uhm. It’s all I can do. I even ate one instead of in addition to a chocolate chip cookie for dessert on Wednesday. Seriously Mangoes?! I blame it on the lack of sunshine.
8 – Obsession level extreme – the Instant Pot. I’ve actually had a few days break in using it – because we had a guest in town and have been playing-tourist, but I assure you – it will crank up the food-factory here again soon.
9 – Tomorrow [Well – today – when you’re reading this – Thursday] I have to have my follow-up-eye-test-because-my-left-eye-is-apparently-wanting-a-career-change-to-something-other-than-a-stellar-eye. Excitement level? Zero.
10 – Since I’m apparently out of pictures to accommodate my random trail of sleepy thoughts, and the use of spell check is becoming basically essential for the forming of words – I will say goodbye 🙂

I’m pretty sure that breakfast is the only reason I get out of bed in the morning too. Well, breakfast and coffee. And good luck with the eye doctor! I had to go in last week and always find it super annoying… And it doesn’t help that I’, basically blind for a good 20 minutes after from all the bright lights he shines in my eyes.
Breakfast is pretty awesome. I go back and forth on my love of coffee. Usually it’s tea. Tea is awesome.
The eye doctor is awful. It’s like torture. 🙂
