If you’re new around here, each Friday I write up a handful of lessons I’ve learned in my blogging-world that week. Thanks for stopping by!
– I decided to get a Twitter account for my blog [and for me!]. But I have no followers (well, some). You should follow me 🙂 I plan to put some fun things there. I’m trying to get away from facebook, because their new restrictions on what they allow people to see in their newsfeeds don’t look awesome for bloggers. Twitter is the new way I’m going. 🙂
– So, with Twitter, I have also been scheduling some tweets. I’m still (obviously) tweeting ‘in the moment’ but I’m also using HootSuite to schedule tweets of older posts. I’m enjoying the freedom of it!
– I mentioned a few weeks ago about how bummed I was to not be able to participate in the Amazon Affiliate program (because I live in North Carolina). So you can imagine my excitement when I saw this post by Jason [Pro Blog School] pop in my inbox this week about a potential change to NC tax laws, that may lead to the ability for NC residents to participate again. We should know more after February 1st. Yay! Even if it doesn’t happen for North Carolina, I hadn’t pursued any other options, due to our upcoming potential move out of state.
– I’ve been in a slight winter-funk this week and haven’t felt much like cooking new foods. I’m tired of all of the winter foods, but don’t really have any nice summer fruits and veggies to start any new foods. I am mega excited for spring foods right now! And as the ingredients start rolling in, I look forward to making you some lovely creations! What do you do when you’re in a cooking slump? What jump starts your creative food-juices? I need help! 🙂
– OMG OMG OMG. *Blog Nerd Dance*. I just got an email that my Mushroom Risotto recipe was accepted to Healthy Aperture. I seriously almost fell out of my seat. Wow. Just …Wow. 🙂 I’ve been submitting recipes for a while, but nothing was getting selected. I guess it just goes to show that photography styling and editing really do pay off!! I’m pretty sure I have Lindsay [Pinch Of Yum]’s Ebook to 100% thank for this one. Click here to visit Pinch of Yum.
