Homemade cashew milk is super easy and cost effective to make! The best part is you have complete control over every ingredient in your milk! We use cashew milk as a 1 to 1 substitute for traditional milk in recipes.
In the video I made plain cashew milk using the following ingredients:
-1 cup unsalted cashews – soaked overnight and drained and rinsed
-4 cups water
I prepare it by:
*Soak cashews overnight, drain and rinse
*Blend with 4 cups water until no cashew pieces remain
*Strain through a cheese cloth or produce bag
This makes a plain cashew milk. If you wish to sweeten it, you can check out some of the options below:
– 2 – 3 dates (pits removed)
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
*The milk will stay good for about 4 or 5 days! Maybe a bit longer..I just always smell it and make sure it doesn’t smell sour – if it doesn’t you’re good to go!
